So, I disobeyed momma. I went out and made friends on the internet and shot their maternity photos! Let me backtrack a little: I’m part of the Grand Rapids chapter of a creative group called The Rising Tide Society. It’s a group that’s focused on the core principle of community over competition.
Now let me tell you, I’m an introvert with no friends. Okay, very few friends. I don’t hang out with people much. Let a lone have photography friends. I spend most of my days with my dog, or at a coffee shop.
So I went to the local Grand Rapids R.T.S. Group and asked if there were any local photographers who wanted to hang out! And boom! Wedding videographers Britany & Alex replied! She cautioned me that any photo we took would be maternity because she is extra pregnant! I was totally down! So that Monday, we met at a coffee shop in Grand Rapids. We chatted about our goals in the industry and how we got into our careers. We shot ideas back and forth about how we could reach those goals and make our dreams a reality. After grabbing coffee, and determining that we weren’t weird people, we decided to slap the title friends on it, and planned a photo walk for that Friday since it was my day off from the pool, and their free day!
We met at the Saugatuck Dunes State Park a curated a little magic. Here is the story:
We started out in this little sun drenched area.
Then Alex hopped in and started whispering sweet things into Britany’s ear.
A family started walking up the path. Not pictured is the child that totally fell running up the hill.
We found a tree with large roots, and Britany started climbing up, so I just kept shooting.
Alex can always make her laugh with ease.
Smiles for days. Smiles for days!
Oh, and then they kissed and started dancing.
She spun, then they struck a pose!
You know, the funny thing is, they are naturally this loverly.
Oh so loverly!
Remember when I told you Alex can always make her laugh? This is more living proof!
And a little more proof!
I’m telling you guys, her laugh is contagious!
Then, they got out their cameras and got Vouge on me!
They are the coolest videographers I know! Hire them!
Britany swears Alex likes getting tickled; however, something said his story is different 🙂
The again, that smile might be on her side!
And then they got even more excited!
They hugged a little more!
Afterwards, they enjoyed a moment with each other.
Of course, we had to get more photos of this bohemian maternity outfit!
And of course, had to snag a few portraits of this guy right here.
afterwards, we saw this tree stump laying on the ground, and they did their thing.
Of course, I didn’t have to say a single thing.
After a semi decent walk through the dunes, we finally made it to the beach!
Of course, Brittany and Alex rocked that too!
Look at them! They are just so adorable!
All things considered, I am going to end on this photo because it’s my absolute favorite!
