Deana + Alexander | Daytona Beach Engagement Photography Session

February 23, 2017

I got a text from Deana & Alex at 7am because it was raining. Mother nature put a little fork in our plans for a sunrise engagement session. Nonetheless, like gladiators, we decided not to let it ruin the day. Plus, it’s Daytona, so we only had to wait an hour. The beach was empty, and the waves crashed against the shore filling your ears with relaxation and bliss. The sound of the waking seagulls filled the air as you stared off into the vast expanse of the Atlantic. We stood for a second and took it all in. The beach is one of the greatest gifts given to us as humans. It’s bigger than our minds could fathom. It was the perfect setting to showcase Deana’s & Alexander’s love.

They met on the first day of college at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Daytona Beach Campus, in a well known dorm call Doolittle Hall. Now Doolittle is no Ritz Carlton. Anyone who’s stayed their can attest to the fact that the similarities to the prison in Orange Is The New Black are dead on; however, that’s where all the fun happens, and people get to know each other because people keep their doors open! Which is conveniently how these two came into contact. Deana, and her roommate heard some music coming from a room, so they went to check it out. They arrived at the room and it just so happened to be Alex’s! Now you could tell he was settled in because he was in his boxers playing video games on his laptop.

She knew from the second she saw him that he was going to be hers. You know that feeling you get in your heart when something tells you that person is the one? Yep, that’s exactly how she felt! Now, in order to establish communication she got a little crafty. She came up with a question about orientation to conveniently ask him. From there, it took off like all the planes on the Riddle flight line. She’d smile when she got texts from him, just like we all do when we communicate with someone we like. She’d wait to check them just so she could savor the moment, and would be disappointed when it just a friend who texted around the same time.

Their first date was half price apps at Applebee’s! Can I get a Amen? Shout out to the simple dates! It took him a year to make up his mind on weather he wanted to be official, but like all gladiators know, it’s not a story unless you embrace the smooth and rocky phases of any relationship starting out. Here they are today, almost ready to close the chapter of their collegiate career and star a legacy together.

Deana & Alex, you guys are such a blast to be around. Your relationship is totally goals, and you guys are so comfortable around each other. To getting the other person zits to cleaning each others eyes, you were made for each other. You’re both gladiators both in school and life. I wish you nothing but the best, and I can’t wait to see where life takes you. There isn’t enough hashtags in the world to describe you, so I’ll stick with the greatest title of all: Future Misters and Misses Williams. Congratulations on your engagement, and may the love be ever in your favor.

I suggested to kick of the session with wine, but they opted for their Herbal Life Tea, which gave them tons of energy for the session.

They also had these cute Mr & Mrs. cups!

He doesn’t have to say much to get her to laugh, just look at those smiles!

Look at them!

They way he pulls her close

The way she smiles when she’s in his presence

Zit popping and piggy back riding

Smiles for days! Smiles for Days!

These two should be on personalized postcards!

“Hun, you got a little something right there. Don’t worry I got it”

We found our way to the pier after walking the beach, and omg the light we found!

It’s not a relationship unless you lick the other person.

When you have the opportunity to lean over the pier and feel the wind, take it.

They wear their laughs so well

He liked it, so he put a ring on it.

Who do you think won?

“Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.” – Ann Landers

A little shot to remember the beauty around you

I told them to tell me how he proposed: this was the result:

Couples that workout together, stay together!

I am going to end with this one because I’m pretty sure it’s going to be their save the date photo <3
